Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert said he told Wisconsin coach Paul Chryst months ago that he had a first-round pick in T.J. Watt. So, the Steelers took him 30th overall. "There's a burning intensity with this guy," Colbert said.

ESPN Stats and Information

T.J. Watt's production on a Wisconsin defense that allowed the nation's seventh-fewest yards per game (301.4) should be a welcome addition to a Steelers front that registered the NFL's fourth-most sacks in 2016.

The Steelers take Wisconsin OLB T.J. Watt - brother of one J.J. Watt - with the 30th overall pick. Pass-rush help was on the menu for Pittsburgh, which needs an eventual James Harrison replacement. Though some personnel evaluators believed Watt was a second-round pick and the Steelers had several cornerback options available, Watt has great size (6-foot-4, 252) and tenacity and tested as an impressive athlete at the combine.

With T.J. Watt getting drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers, he and brother J.J. Watt will play on Christmas Day.

The Steelers are five picks away. Tons of available options that would fill their needs: ILB Reuben Foster CB Kevin King, OLB Takk McKinley, TE David Njoku, CB Tre'Davious White, LB Zach Cunningham. McKinley is on their radar but the Packers, picking 29th, also need pass-rush help. Foster and Ryan Shazier would make a vicious linebacker tandem.

Lots of outside linebackers available after first 14 picks. Expect a pass-rush run soon. If not, teams picking in late first (Packers, Steelers) will be pleased.

With the John Ross pick, the Cincinnati Bengals are loaded up on playmakers and ready to attack the Pittsburgh Steelers' secondary twice a year. Yet another reason for the Steelers to get more rangy defensive back help.

Two Washington Huskies are on the radar for the Steelers' 30th pick - corner Kevin King, safety Budda Baker. At 6-foot-3 with a 4.42 40, King has the size-speed hybrid qualities the Steelers defense coveted in past drafts with Ryan Shazier and Sean Davis. Baker is a tough player in the open field, which offsets his 5-9 frame.

Which player will the Steelers take at No. 30? Here are the final projected picks from Mel Kiper Jr. and Todd McShay, plus the players Louis Riddick and NFL Nation would select: Kiper – Budda Baker, S, Washington; McShay – Evan Engram, TE, Mississippi; Riddick – Tyus Bowser, OLB, Houston; NFL Nation – Corey Davis, WR, Western Michigan

Mandy Moore and Milo Ventimiglia, stars of NBC's 'This is Us,' will announce a draft pick for the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday. They will make the pick from the team's Fan Blitz in Heinz Field. The show is set in Pittsburgh.

ESPN Stats and Information

With one of the NFL's worst pass defenses in the middle of the field last season, the Steelers could benefit from the addition of a safety like Jabrill Peppers or Budda Baker in the draft.

Stephen A. is happy for Bryant but doesn't trust his actions (1:39)

Here's how Martavis Bryant's return could play out, assuming he stays clean: Enters camp as a backup, Steelers force him to earn back trust, splits snaps with Justin Hunter and Sammie Coates on the outside, gets job back by Week 1.

Best mid-round prospect fit: Jake Butt

An addition like Butt makes sense as both a backup plan for Ladarius Green and a potential long-term answer at the position.

The next step for Martavis Bryant is securing a counselor in Pittsburgh, where he'll also receive frequent drug tests as part of NFL substance-abuse protocol. Bryant received positive remarks from his meeting with NFL council in New York, and he's remained clean while training in Nevada, according to a source close to Bryant.

Steelers' Bryant given conditional reinstatement

Martavis Bryant, who has missed 20 regular-season games in two seasons for multiple substance abuse violations, was reinstated with conditions for preseason participation by the NFL Tuesday.

Jeremy Fowler ESPN Staff Writer

Steelers GM Kevin Colbert comments on reinstatement of Martavis Bryant, who gives the team draft clarity: "Martavis Bryant has followed the protocol and has been conditionally reinstated by the National Football League. We appreciate that he has taken the necessary steps in an effort to get his personal life in order. We also understand this is just the beginning as he works to return to the team and meet all of the conditions of his reinstatement. We look forward to working with Martavis to ensure that he is mentally and physically prepared to contribute to our efforts on the field, while also maintaining the proper balance to keep his life in order off the field."
