Bolstering their secondary depth, the Jets have signed veteran DB Corey White, who can play safety and cornerback. He played both spots last season for the Bills -- a total of 391 snaps and two interceptions. He also played for the Cowboys, Cards and Saints, who made him a fifth-round pick in 2012. White, 27, has played in 66 games, including 24 starts. He has six career interceptions. They waived/injured rookie PR Brisly Estime. They also visited with free agent WR Kenbrell Thompkins, a former Jet and Patriot.

Jets WR ArDarius Stewart, a third-round pick, has signed -- 4 years, $3.25M. Only one pick unsigned -- Jamal Adams.

After missing the Jets' first OTA practice on Tuesday, S Calvin Pryor rejoined his teammates and practiced on Wednesday (closed to the media). The practices are voluntary, but Pryor's absence was noteworthy because his roster spot appears in jeopardy after the team drafted two safeties.

The Jets have signed two more draft picks -- S Marcus Maye (second round) and OLB Dylan Donahue (fifth round). They both receive four-year contracts -- $6.6 million for Maye, $2.6 million for Donahue. Only two of the nine picks remain unsigned -- first-round S Jamal Adams and third-round WR ArDarius Stewart.

Former Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick's comments to the Tampa media were taken out of context on Twitter. Here's the full quote about losing his job last season: "That's the harsh reality of the NFL. There's only so many jobs that are available. I can't complain about it. Last year I was the starter. If you play well as the starter, you continue to play. I didn't play well, so I lost the game of musical chairs. They pulled out my chair from under me."

Jets defensive coordinator Kacy Rodgers said of Sheldon Richardson, "I shouldn't say 'chip on his shoulder,' but I think he's got something to prove." When that comment was relayed to Richardson, he didn't exactly agree.

Jets' best acquisition: Jamal Adams

When team officials gave Adams a tour of the facility the day after the draft, staffers emerged from their offices and applauded. That says it all.

It didn't take long for Jets DE Sheldon Richardson to tweak former teammate Brandon Marshall. Richardson, who feuded with Marshall last season, said the locker room is "easier" to enjoy this season. Asked to explain, he said, "There are 15 reasons why." Marshall wore No. 15. Boom!

Fantasy alert: New Jets OC John Morton says it'll be backfield-by-committee. He believes it's necessary in today's NFL. He said the plan will vary week to week, but it sounds like there will be a time-share with Matt Forte and Bilal Powell.

Jets OC John Morton, speaking to the media for the first time, declined to discuss his offensive philosophy. He said he wants a competitive offense and an offense that protects the ball. That'll be a big challenge; the Jets have thrown more interceptions than any team in the league over the last five years.

The Jets' first practice is in the books. Takeaways: QBJosh McCown took the majority of the first-team reps, but look for a rotation as OTAs continue. WR Eric Decker, coming off hip and shoulder surgeries, was a full go and made several catches. They can't possibly be thinking of cutting him. S Calvin Pryor was a no-show. The rookie safeties, Jamal Adams and Marcus Maye, got a chance to play in tandem as they rotated safeties.

The Jets QB competition is underway between Josh McCown (15), Bryce Petty (9) and Christian Hackenberg (5), who overthrows a receiver and nearly takes out a photographer standing next to me.

Jets S Calvin Pryor, the subject of trade speculation, hasn't been spotted at today's first OTA practice. These are voluntary practices, but it behooves him to attend. The Jets drafted safeties Jamal Adams and Marcus Maye in the first two rounds, putting Pryor's roster spot up in the air. Maye, still recovering from a broken arm last fall, is limited in practice.
