Fournette doesn't think ankle will keep him out

Although acknowledging that the final decision is up to the Jaguars coaches, Leonard Fournette said he feels like he will be able to play Sunday despite his ankle injury.

Jaguars RB Leonard Fournette says his right ankle feels good and he believes he can play on Sunday against Indianapolis but "it's up to my coaches if they're going to let me play or not." Fournette said he did some running today for the first time since Sunday. He wasn't wearing any kind of wrap or support on his ankle in the locker room.

The closest running back is Carolina's Jonathan Stewart, who has 29 carries (for only 43 yards). The Jaguars have a league-high 66 carries for a league-high 366 yards against eight or more defenders in the box. Buffalo and Carolina have the second-most carries (37).

Jaguars owner Shad Khan was at this morning's meeting between owners and players. He thinks the dialogue on issues important to players will lead to an end to the anthem controversy eventually: "I think it's a natural evolution and will get back to where it was before this controversy started," Khan said "Our players have all been standing. It's not a big deal do us; I think players are deciding it's the right thing to do - stand for the national anthem."

The Jacksonville Jaguars released kicker Jason Myers and signed former Los Angeles Chargers kicker Josh Lambo on Tuesday.

Jaguars coach Doug Marrone said team will look at potentially upgrading at kicker after Jason Myers missed two 54-yard FG attempts on Sunday. Marrone said it's no different than any other position. If they find someone better they'll bring them in.
