LB Deion Jones on Jalen Collins, his former LSU teammate and now former Falcons teammates: ``I didn't even know he got cut until later on in the day. Pretty much just needs to keep his head up; keep the dream alive. That's pretty much it. He's got a lot of ball left in him. I'm pretty sure he learned from his mistakes. He's just got to build from there.'' The Falcons waived Collins on Tuesday, following the conclusion of his 10-game suspension for a repeat violation of the league's police on performance-enhancing substances. Coach Dan Quinn said he's happy with the depth at cornerback and it was in the team's best interest to move forward without Collins, who started the Super Bowl with Desmond Trufant (pectoral surgery) on IR.

Falcons coach Dan Quinn confirms that RB Devonta Freeman remains in the concussion protocol, as stated here earlier. Quinn wouldn't reveal what stage of the protocol Freeman's in at this point. Seems unlikely he'll play this week vs. Tampa Bay, although Freeman told folks he feels well enough to play. He missed Monday night's game at Seattle. P Matt Bosher (ankle) and T Ty Sambrailo (hamstring) also to be held out of practice.

FPI ranks best games of Week 12: Buccaneers at Falcons

Ryan Fitzpatrick will once again get the call at QB for Tampa Bay. So far the Buccaneers have won both of his starts, albeit against the Jets and Dolphins. The Falcons will be a much tougher test.

Falcons RB Devonta Freeman remains in the concussion protocol. Although he feels ready to play, according to source close to him, he still has to go through the entire process before being cleared. The Falcons will let it play all the way out, day to day, with this being Freeman's second concussion since August and third since November of 2015. Tevin Coleman rushed for just 43 yards on 20 carries but scored a TD starting in place of Freeman during Monday night's 34-31 win at Seattle.

Two weeks ago, Atlanta was teetering on the edge with odds below 20 percent, but that number has more than doubled since. That said, the Falcons still trail the Seahawks (54.7 percent), by FPI's measure, despite beating them Monday.

Should the Seahawks have blitzed more?

Seattle bothered Matt Ryan with a few blitzes Monday night, but the Hawks mostly used a standard rush. Ryan was barely pressured by four or fewer rushers, letting him take advantage of the Seahawks' coverage on such plays.
