You have to feel for ‪the die-hard Knicks fan, who has had to root for NYK to lose at the end of 2 of the last 3 seasons -- with a 50-loss season sandwiched in between‬.

With tonight's loss to San Antonio, the Knicks have tied Orlando for the NBA's fourth-worst record. Both teams have one more loss than Sacramento and Philadelphia. New York entered the weekend with a 28 percent chance of getting a top-5 pick. That's the only number worth keeping an eye on over the final 9 games.

play
Kawhi's 3 gets the house jumping (0:27)

I know he's been in foul trouble but it's a bit strange to see Kristaps Porzingis take just 6?shots thus far. San Antonio has done a nice job taking things away from Porzingis, who hasn't gotten more than 3 good looks at the basket.

play
Parker goes up-and-under for two (0:15)
play
Dedmon sticks with it (0:27)

The Knicks haven't quit. They cut San Antonio's 18-point lead to four late in the 3rd quarter behind Willy Hernangomez's 22 points.

Kristaps Porzingis has four fouls in the first half. The Knicks missed two bunnies on one possession and are down 18. The tank rolls on.

Anderson goes coast-to-coast for San Antonio (0:26)

The Knicks, down 14, have moved the ball pretty well early on against San Antonio. They are just missing easy shots.

play
Kawhi puts up tough shot (0:22)

Kristaps Porzingis has picked up 3 personal fouls nine minutes into tonight's game against San Antonio. His rough start tonight comes on the heels of a so-so game against Portland. This final stretch of games will be important for Porzingis as he'll likely be the Knicks' No. 1 option on offense.

play
Simmons Euro-steps for the layup (0:17)

Kristaps Porzingis and Derrick Rose haven't had great chemistry this season. It will be interesting to see how those two play together tonight with Carmelo Anthony out. Will Rose and Porzingis thrive without Anthony - another player who uses the ball frequently.

Ian Begley ESPN Staff Writer

The Knicks say that Derrick Rose is available tonight. Carmelo Anthony (sore left knee) and Lance Thomas (sore right hip) are out for the second straight game.

The Joakim Noah 20-game suspension likely gives Willy Hernangomez a chance to start the season at center for the Knicks. Hernangomez, a rookie, has played well offensively for New York this season but has struggled at times on defense. The Knicks could also choose to play a smaller lineup with Kristaps Porzingis at center.

After testing positive for a banned supplement, Knicks center Joakim Noah will start his 20-game suspension when he is "eligible and physically able to play."

play
Desus & Mero talk Knicks' issues (1:33)

Charles Oakley is upset that Patrick Ewing didn't call him or speak out after Oakley was removed from MSG last month. "I'm hurting because he didn't call in and show love because I had his back for 10 years," Oakley said, according to TMZ Sports, pointing out that Michael Jordan got involved in an attempt to broker peace between Oakley and Knicks owner James Dolan. "You should have been the first one who said something about what happened in The Garden. Should have been the first one." Ewing and Oakley played together for 10 seasons in New York.

Not much has changed for the Knicks' lottery projections after their last 2 losses. They have a 31% chance of landing a top-5 pick and a 21% chance of getting a top-3 pick, per ESPN's BPI. NY is virtually guaranteed a top-10 pick (99.9%). There are 8 teams 'competing' for top lottery seeding. The Knicks have the fourth toughest remaining schedule among that group of 8, per BPI.
