Roth has served as an assistant coach for several NBA clubs over an 11-year period, and has coached with four national teams and in Europe. Roth also played in the NBA and was a member of the Timberwolves expansion team. The idea that Timberwolves president and coach Tom Thibodeau is bringing him back as coach speaks highly of Thibodeau's confidence in Roth as NBA teams are placing an increasing value on the G League head coaching position.
