Lakers refuse to roll over

The Lakers overcame a 19-point deficit in the third quarter to beat the Bulls on Tuesday. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, it marked the first time in more than four years that Los Angeles came back from that large of a deficit in the second half to win (trailed Pelicans by 21 in the third quarter before winning on March 6, 2013). The Lakers had lost 125 straight games when trailing by at least 19 points after halftime prior to Tuesday.

After kind of sleepwalking their way through much of the first half, the Lakers came to life in the third quarter. Julius Randle provided a major spark with eight points, four rebounds and one terrific block at the rim on a Bobby Portis dunk attempt. Trailing by as much as 19, the Lakers used a 30-12 run to get within one just before the end of the quarter.
