LaVar Ball was once again boastful about the future success of Big Baller Brand: "It's going to get bigger and bigger and with the social media and all this new stuff, nobody gonna want Nike and Adidas and Under Armour no more. That's old news now."

Baxter Holmes ESPN Staff Writer

LaVar Ball said he doesn't think the Los Angeles Lakers will allow his family's reality show "Ball in the Family" to be filmed during training camp and in their practice facility, but he said it's not a big deal. "I want everybody to get all this stuff in and then when October rolls around, tell everybody back up," LaVar said. "Lonzo's fixing to perform. From October to the playoffs." Lonzo Ball is a rookie point guard for the Lakers. The family's reality show is a 10-episode weekly series that airs on Facebook and debuted Thursday.

LaVar: LaMelo shoe takes priority over eligibility

Given a choice between a signature shoe and his 16-year-old son LaMelo Ball's college eligibility, LaVar Ball said the MB1 shoe takes precedence, insisting the NCAA is "not my boss."

Baxter Holmes ESPN Staff Writer

It's not clear if 16-year-old LaMelo Ball having a signature shoe will affect his NCAA eligibility in the future, but if it comes down to one or the other, LaMelo's father LaVar says the priority is to have a shoe: "NCAA ain't going to tell me s---t. Because they're not my boss. That's what they do, but they're not going to be like, ‘Oh, LaVar, you can't bring that shoe out until we tell you.' What? Something that I'm doing for my family? That's mine? I'm not under no umbrella."

HS junior LaMelo Ball has $395 signature shoe

After it was announced that his youngest son has his own signature shoe for $395, LaVar Ball said he doesn't care if it affects the college eligibility for the high school junior.

Jeff Goodman ESPN Insider

LaVar Ball to ESPN on whether LaMelo will be able to play at UCLA with his own signature sneaker: "We'll worry about it when we get there. Who cares? If he can't play, then he can't play. It doesn't mean he'll stop working out and getting better. ... Maybe in two years they'll change the rule and he'll be able to the NBA straight out of high school."
