Kansas coach Bill Self said he believes the Elite Eight is "the hardest game of the tournament because there's so much emphasis on the road to Final Four." Instead of playing for a Final Four berth, he wants his players to just stay in the moment of trying to win a game.

How to bet Saturday's Elite Eight games

The No. 1 seeds remain in the West and Midwest, but their Elite Eight challengers are dangerous. Dave Tuley and Andrew Lange give their best bets for Saturday's NCAA tourney games.

ESPN Stats and Information

The Jayhawks are scoring a whole lot of points in the NCAA tournament, but historically that hasn't translated into titles for very many teams. Only the 1989 Michigan Wolverines have gone on to win the championship after scoring 90 points or more in the first three games of the tournament.

If Kansas isn't playing the best basketball out of the teams remaining, I don't know who is. The Jayhawks dispatched Purdue 98-66 to set up an Elite Eight showdown with Oregon on Saturday.

Purdue had a total of 20 turnovers in its first two NCAA games. The Boilermakers need just five more this game to finish with as many. They had six turnovers over the six minutes of Kansas' run that may have broken it open for good.

Just imagine if Lagerald Vick played baseball. You'd be allowed to whip a basketball at his face right after that 360.

Feels like every shot Purdue's Caleb Swanigan attempts has been an ordeal. Kansas' Landon Lucas not allowing him to get anything easy. Aside from when he steps outside for a 3-point attempt, Swanigan has had to fight for every inch.

Make-or-break player: Landen Lucas

Lucas is critical to the Jayhawks defense and if he gets into foul trouble, there is nowhere else for Bill Self to go in the interior.

ESPN Stats and Information
