UNC AD Cunningham signs six-year contract

North Carolina athletic director Bubba Cunningham has signed a new six-year contract. Cunningham will earn a base $740,440 salary through June 2023.

Maye, No. 9 UNC hold on to beat Bucknell, 93-81

Luke Maye scored 20 points and No. 9 North Carolina held on to give coach Roy Williams his 400th victory at the school, a 93-81 win over Bucknell on Wednesday night in the on-campus round of the PK80.

UNC's Johnson out 4-6 weeks with knee injury

North Carolina says guard Cameron Johnson will be out 4-6 weeks after having surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee. Johnson is a graduate transfer from Pittsburgh who missed the opener against Northern Iowa with a sprained neck.

With Joel Berry II sidelined due to a broken hand, North Carolina coach Roy Williams said Thursday that he's yet to decide on his starting lineup for Friday's season opener against Northern Iowa.
