Kansas coach Bill Self confirms that the Jayhawks will play Missouri in an exhibition game on Oct. 22 in Kansas City, with proceeds from the game to help hurricane victims. Self says this game has nothing to do with the dormant KU-Mizzou rivalry. "We have an opportunity, with NCAA approval, to do something for others." He said the schools hope to raise more than $1 million.

Missouri among teams ready to return to NCAA tournament

Since last season, Missouri has hired a new coach in Cuonzo Martin and signed 2018 potential No. 1 pick Michael Porter Jr. So yes, Mizzou is a pretty easy pick for inclusion on this list.

Myron Medcalf ESPN Staff Writer

Cuonzo Martin and Missouri are hosting a pro day on Oct. 14 and inviting NBA scouts to the Missouri campus. Makes sense with Michael Porter Jr. being a projected top-two pick. Spoke with Michael Porter Jr. last night i at the Stephen Curry showcase game in San Francisco. He mentioned that his younger brother Jontay was close to reclassifying and that he could really give the team a boost. He was complementary about Jeremiah Tilmon being the real deal.‬ He thinks that the starting line up could be almost brand new this upcoming year. Missouri will be relevant in the SEC.

Michael Porter Jr., to ESPN on his brother, Jontay, reclassifying and playing together at Missouri this season: "He makes everything easier for everybody on the court ... He might not fill the stat sheet in term of points, but the way he attacks the game it makes it so much easier. I think him coming here alongside the other players we have here will be ridiculous. ... He's strong, and he really does it all. He can dribble, he's a really great passer and he can shoot."
