Jim Delany thinks cities like Detroit, Minneapolis and other cities "should aspire" to bid on future Big Ten basketball tournaments. "I can't tell you that it will happen, but I would encourage interested parties to seek it," he said. "We have obviously, by going to D.C. and New York, demonstrated that we are a conference that's got to serve a lot of different geographies."

Purdue AD Mike Bobinski said basketball coaches have "unanimous support" for protected rivalries that would ensure biannual games. Purdue-Indiana and Michigan-Michigan State are the two big ones, and Northwestern-Illinois also was brought up. "I don't know if we'll be able to get to it for this year," Bobinski said, "but I think we'll get there for the reasonably near future, which is good."

Jackson has big-game potential

Michigan State signee Jaren Jackson has plenty of untapped potential, and will bring high-end rebounding, shot-blocking and scoring to the Spartans.

Not sure anyone has boosted his stock over the last three weeks more than Jaren Jackson. Michigan State signee has great inside-outside ability, should make an immediate impact next season.

ESPN Stats and Information

Miles Bridges' 16.9 PPG were just shy of Magic Johnson for the most by a freshman in Michigan State history. He'll have a chance to improve upon that, as he is returning for his sophomore season in East Lansing.

Kentucky commit Jared Vanderbilt and Missouri commit Michael Porter Jr. had 19 apiece to lead all scorers at the Nike Hoops Summit. Alabama signee Collin Sexton led all players with eight assists. Vanderbilt and Michigan State signee Jaren Jackson Jr. finished with a game-high 10 rebounds apiece.

Chantel Jennings ESPN Staff Writer

Michigan State signee Jaren Jackson Jr. has had a few big dunks in the first half of the Nike Hoops Summit. We chatted earlier this week about Tom Izzo. He said that Izzo couldn't be more different from his sideline demeanor. Said Izzo was genuine from day 1 during his recruitment.

Chantel Jennings ESPN Staff Writer

Michigan State signee Jaren Jackson Jr. said he has enjoyed going up against Duke signee Wendell Carter Jr. this week. He said that Carter is really pushing him to his limit. "He gets under my skin," Jackson said, because Carter has some size on him. So, Jackson has had to use a bit more finesse this week and not just his height.

The intensity has been picked up a bit and Michigan State signee Jaren Jackson Jr. was more than happy to take it right at Duke signee Wendell Carter Jr. These big men are really looking to get in each other's faces.

Next season's stars: Nick Ward

Ward's per-minute numbers in limited playing time last season suggest he's due for a breakout sophomore year in East Lansing.

Kind of crazy to see a line up on the court for the US team with the PG at 6-foot-3 (Alabama signee Collin Sexton), and the other four players coming in at 6-foot-7 (Oregon signee Troy Brown Jr.), 6-foot-9 (Kentucky commit Jarred Vanderbilt), 6-foot-10 (Missouri commit Michael Porter Jr.) and 6-foot-11 (MSU signee Jaren Jackson Jr).

Michigan State signee Jaren Jackson Jr. with a big block on MJ Walker. Jackson has been really actively defensively, showing good court and body awareness which allows him to make plays like this.
