Quarterman, Norton headline trophy watch lists

Miami LB Shaquille Quarterman was named to the Bronko Nagurski Trophy watch list on Thursday along with DT Kendrick Norton, who also made the Outland Trophy watch list. The awards go to the nation's top defensive standout and top interior lineman, respectively. Last season, Quarterman recorded 84 total tackles, including 3.5 sacks. Norton finished with 39 total tackles and 2.0 sacks.

As usual, Florida State and Clemson lead the way, with ESPN's Football Power Index giving the Seminoles a sizable advantage. Miami looks like the next-biggest threat, with outside chances for Louisville, NC State and North Carolina.
