ACC commissioner John Swofford was asked about SEC commissioner Greg Sankey refusing to recuse himself from the ongoing investigation into North Carolina. Sankey serves as chair of the committee on infractions. "The peer aspect of that whole process, that's what it's been for a long, long time," Swofford said. "I can remember when Paul Dee, the former AD at Miami, Paul was the chair of the committee when Miami joined our league and I can remember having conversations with him about how uncomfortable that was at times, so it's not any different now than it's been. Whether that should be changed in some way has been under discussion for a while, multiple years and so until someone comes up with a better way to approach that kind of situation, we'll see. I doubt that's imminent, but there are discussions about the process and what is the best process to have. My biggest complaint has consistently been how long these kinds of things take sometimes, and unfortunately we've had several that have fallen into not as long as this one, but still lengthy because it would help a great deal all the way around if we could come up with a process that brought things to a culmination more quickly."

ACC commissioner John Swofford said he expects the revenue gap between his conference and the Big Ten and SEC to close once the ACC Network launches in 2019. "That's why we're doing the channel," Swofford said. "We fully expect a gap with particularly the Big Ten and SEC here for a couple of years but that's the very reason we've signed to do what we're doing. We fully expect that gap will narrow considerably when we get the channel up and running."

North Carolina coach Larry Fedora said he would trade the addition of a 10th assistant coach to get the new changes to the recruiting calendar undone. ACC coaches unanimously expressed frustration with the new rules, including spring official visits and a December signing date. "It's almost like they were dangling that and said, 'OK if you want this, you've got to take all this other stuff,'" Fedora said. "Kind of like the way our government works. Isn't that the way that works? Let's stuff some things in there, whether you want it or not, and if you want these things, you're going to have to take this."

Scout's Take: OLB Payton Wilson to UNC

Payton Wilson projects as an outside linebacker at North Carolina, but appears to have the versatility to play along the line as well.

The Raiders have selected North Carolina running back Elijah Hood with their third of four seventh-round draft picks. The 5-foot-11, 232-pounder is a grinder with 28 broken tackles over the past two years and sounds like he could learn a thing or two from Marshawn Lynch, especially since Hood is not seen as having breakaway speed.

The Cowboys made their second trade of the sixth round, giving up No. 211 to the New England Patriots for picks Nos. 216 (sixth) and 239 (seventh). Trader Jerry is heating up. This is his 66th draft-day trade since 1989. It is the 11th time in Jerry Jones' tenure he has made a deal with New England. He has traded more only with the Raiders (12).

The Cowboys have traded up to take La. Tech safety Xavier Woods with the 191st pick overall after giving up next year's fifth rounder to the New York Jets. Woods, who is the third defensive back the Cowboys have selected in five picks, had 14 career interceptions and 32 pass deflections.

Just how versatile is new Cardinals running back T.J. Logan, who they drafted out of North Carolina with their second pick of the fifth round? He rushed for 650 yards and seven touchdowns on 120 carries last season. He caught 29 passes for 244 yards and three touchdowns. He returned 21 kickoffs for 690 yards and two touchdowns. And he led the Tar Heels with 1,584 all-purpose yards, which was an average of 121.8 yards per game.

New Cardinals running back T.J. Logan fills a dual-role for the Cardinals: a running back with pass-catching abilities and a kick returner. He should compete to be Arizona's primary returner on punts and kickoffs while adding depth to the Cardinals' running back room as a backup to David Johnson.

The Cardinals drafted RB T.J. Logan from North Carolina with the 179th pick, their second of the fifth round.

Cowboys' fourth-round pick Ryan Switzer has a "Believe" tattoo on the inside of his lower lip. He said it wasn't painful. "It's my absolute favorite word," Switzer said. "My mantra. And it's a place where my mom wouldn't see it and wouldn't get mad at me."
